초록 |
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the essential meanings and lived experiences of nursing students who took part in a National Assembly internship program in South Korea. Methods: For this phenomenological study, data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven nursing students who completed a five-day internship at the National Assembly between 2022 and 2024, utilizing purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method was employed to analyze the data and uncover the core meanings of their experiences. Results: Four key categories emerged from the internship experiences of the nursing students: 1) From abstract to concrete: Unveiling policy reality, 2) Expansion of political awareness and civic professional identity, 3) Reframing nursing professional identity and recognizing influence, and 4) Acknowledging the limits of policy participation and advocating for curricular reform to enhance policy competence. Conclusion: The internship offered a developmental and transformative learning experience that enriched nursing students' political awareness, civic engagement, and advocacy skills. These findings highlight the necessity of integrating structured, experiential policy education into nursing curricula to strengthen political competence and professional identity. |
